Rainy Summer Days

Things had taken a dramatic turn this summer. As of June, the farm in Winfield saw more than 195.7 mm of rain. It rained on and off for 29 days.

This summer has been so bad that not only nearby lakes have submerged, but all the crops at Triple S Ranch have basically drowned. Leaving us with not only no veggies to harvest, but not having any to sell at the market either. Occasionally, enough rain is good so that the crops can grow beautifully. On the other hand, if there’s too much rain like we have been having, it is extremely harmful to the crops. Excessive rain leads to flash flooding which caused a lot us a lot of issues, resulting in no products to sell this year unfortunately.

We had to adapt and make changes this year in order to deal with this dilemma. Instead of having veggies at the market, we have been selling art. Paintings and pictures captured by local artists whom are on the autism spectrum. All proceeds go to autism awareness.
