As founder of the Triple S Ranch & Market Garden, I am delighted that we will begin our first year of operation this year. This agribusiness started out as my desire for a little cabin in the woods ten years ago, turned into a quarter section of pastureland, of which part has now become a farmstead.

When I realized that I really didn’t need all this land – even though I could use it as pasture land for the rest of my life, if I wanted – I wanted to do something with it. There are 4 basic tenets in my life that I try desperately to live by: • Take care of ourselves and each other
• Take care of community • Take care of the food we eat • Take care of our earth
These tenets have been translated into Triple S Ranch & Market Garden.

This agribusiness hires adults with autism to operate and manage the production of organic fruits and vegetables using eco-friendly alternative sources of energy, such as solar, wind and water.I was pretty happy when I finally completed the business plan in January 2018. When I looked back over my many, many drafts, I realized that this has been a plan in the making for a decade. Scary to realize how quickly a decade can pass. That made me realize that if I didn’t take the bull by the horns and get this business launched, I would probably never get it off the ground. So here I am today! I’ve been seeding and taking care of over 1024 plant babies since early March. I don’t have all the proper equipment and set ups yet, so I used what I could. It ended up that my basement became a greenhouse. My Tim Horton’s cups, K-cups, yogurt tubs, and red solo cups became my potting equipment.I look forward to seeing everyone at the Launch Party. Keep tuning in for updates on our initiative and all the ups and downs that will come with it. Time to celebrate!!
